Ian McDaid
Ian is a structural engineer with over 20 years' experience in Australia and internationally. Passionate about good, elegant design, Ian believes engineering should be efficient, honest, simple, and well-integrated with the overall building design. His clients value his creativity, problem-solving skills and personal commitment to their projects.
Ian is motivated to develop people to their full potential and to engage in the continual evolution of Northrop. He has recently founded Northrop's 'Disruption Lab', a technology-driven space for experimental development improving how we deliver for clients across our engineering disciplines. Ian manages this team, alongside his senior structural engineering role, on some of our most complex projects including heritage alterations, vertical schools, hospitals, and high-rise commercial towers.
