NRMA Headquarters
Our client, NRMA planned a purpose-built six-storey, two basement building to become its new headquarters at Sydney Olympic Park.
Northrop worked with Pepper Property and FDC on the design and construction which included a fully integrated fit out. Buildability and cost minimisation was paramount in our brief.
We commenced the fit out in the middle of construction, with just one set of drawings to save hassles on site.
The inclusion of interconnected floors presented some difficulties and necessitated double cantilevered stairs to accommodate the loss of continuity in the slabs. Frequency issues were another challenge and required careful stair dynamics to minimise the vibrations under footfall.
Our team worked collaboratively with the end client, builder, interior designer and architect to achieve the challenging stair design – a double cantilevered, steel framed, curved stair with express PFC stringer.
The result was a high quality and beautiful fit out which met the client’s expectations.
