Samoan Parliament House
This proejct saw the design and construction of an iconic new Parliament House for Samoa. Located on the waterfront of an exposed peninsula, the new building has been designed to adequately reflect the Samoan culture and to withstand the challenges its location presents. The site is exposed to the elements. Its close to sea level in an area prone to earthquakes and other natural disasters.
A large dome shaped building has been designed that sits on poor foundations requiring deep pile footings. Hydraulic services have been designed for an importance level 4, 50 year design life able to withstand these natural disasters.
Extensive collaboration with the Samoan representatives, the builder, architect and other specialist consultants will see the Samoan Parliament House stand tall for another 50 years.
