Meet Chris

Newly appointed associate, Chris Webb had almost finished an Engineering degree when he realised it was drafting that he enjoyed most. It was the detail involved and the process of seeing all parts come together to complete a project that enthused him. He began his career as a structural drafter at Northrop in 2011.

Growing up in Western Sydney with his two brothers, Chris has fond memories of hours spent in the pool.  With a flair for sport, he swam up to ten sessions each week. He was also a natural leader and enjoyed seeing those around him succeed. His election to sports captain in high school seeded his desire to lead and motivate others.

Chris has developed young apprentices to senior drafters and currently manages a team of four in our Sydney office. He proactively engages with structural drafting managers throughout Northrop in the development of drafting tools and the delivery of projects. His drive to motivate our drafters and for them to have accountability for their work has been pivotal to his success.

It’s the progressive nature of the industry that keeps Chris energised. “3D modelling has really reinvigorated drafting. It makes it fun to come to work”, he says. This passion for his ‘sport’ coupled with his ability to bring everyone along for the ride is what makes him an undeniable asset to Northrop.
