Joe O'Brien
Joe O'Brien graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering. He joined Northrop in 2007 and is a senior structural engineer within the Brisbane office.
Joe has a broad background in health, primary education, university facilities, commercial, and residential developments. He works closely with architects to design structural systems using concrete, steel, masonry and timber. Much of Joe's experience includes adaptive reuse of existing buildings, and he is particularly interested in projects which focus on sustainability and regenerative design outcomes, believing that the future of structural design is incorporating cimate resilience in all aspects of the building life cycle. Joe also works with suppliers of multi-storey modular units and prefabricated buildings.
