This 30,000sqm warehouse facility is located on the recently established First Estate at Orchard Hills. The warehouse features a 37m tall highbay structure and trussed columns that tower over neighbouring industrial buildings and holds a fully-automated racking system for sorting and storing all kinds of snacks. Northrop provided structural engineering services as well as sustainability consultancy services which included 5-Star Self Assessed Green Star Certification. The structural design included in-depth analysis of the slabs to ensure the tight racking tilt requirements were met, along with an efficiently designed lowbay that reduced amount of internal columns by close to half through introducing transfer beams for every second frame. The close relationship between our engineers and the builder (RCC) enabled a enjoyable and successful construction phase with minimal disruptions on site
