Canberra Hospital

Canberra Hospital is an acute care teaching hospital of over 600 beds and a tertiary referral centre providing specialist services to the Australian Capital Territory and South-East New South Wales.

It’s the largest public hospital in the region, supporting a population of over 500,000 with strong links to community-based services that provide continuity of care for patients.

The hospital is also the principal teaching hospital of the Australian National University (ANU) Medical School and is part of the University of Canberra’s School of Nursing.

Northrop have been engaged on many occasions to provide comprehensive multi-disciplinary engineering designs, tender documentation and partial construction supervision both directly to ACT Property Group and various leading architects.

The Canberra Hospital is a key installation. As such, we provided services in close coordination with key stakeholders to ensure works undertaken continued, whilst avoiding disruptions to existing tenants and academic staff.

Northrop is able to draw on extensive experience in healthcare and the built environment to meet ACT Government’s expectations in an adaptable installation to meet changes in medical technologies and practice.
