Trinity Point Marina Development
The development comprises a new 5 star hotel, restaurant, function centre, 180 berth marina, new multi storey residential buildings including resort pools and spas.
Northrop have been engaged to provide structural, mechanical, electrical and energy efficiency design services and engaged specialists for the resort pools and fire protection.
Both the commercial and residential buildings include basement car parking. The entire site is located in an area of proposed future mine workings with notable effects on the design of the buildings.
A detailed value engineering review identified a number of significant improvements including raising the level of basements to reduce waterproofing and hydrostatic loads, simplification of roof forms and alignment of structure throughout the buildings.
