Granville Park Stadium Redevelopment

Northrop were engaged for all services for this spectacular new multi-use community sports pavilion in Granville Park. The existing facility was outdated and not fit-for-purpose. The redevelopment will provide a brand-new venue, complete with associated function facilities including: grandstand for 750 spectators including a structural timber frame; change rooms, multipurpose room, office, amenities, community function room, canteen, kitchen and a covered viewing deck; 127 car spaces, including lighting; underground stormwater infiltration system; incoming services including substation, gas, water, sewer and communications; field reconstruction, new lighting, irrigation and new turf.

The roof design includes an intricate cantilever dia-grid like mass timber roof. Northrop went through a number of design iterations with the architect to achieve the architectural intent, which was all delivered in a BIM environment.

This project represents a significant investment from the Cumberland City Council into the sports and community facilities of Western Sydney and is a great addition to the local built environment.
