Everleigh Sports Park Wins AFL’s 2024 Ken Gannon Community Football Facility Award

“It’s incredibly rewarding to see the community enjoying the spaces we helped bring to life. This project is a testament to collaboration, attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Our extensive experience in sports facility design means we can deliver cost-efficient, high-performing solutions tailored to the needs of community and elite sport alike,” said Sebastian Torralba, Northrop lead structural engineer on this project.

We’re proud to share that Everleigh Sports Park has been recognised with the Ken Gannon Community Football Facility Award, celebrating its role in strengthening grassroots AFL in Queensland. More than just a playing field, The Everleigh AFL Club is a place where young athletes take their first mark, where clubs grow and where communities support is evident. Grassroots level is the foundation of everything we love about the game, participation, pride, belonging and it deserves spaces that reflect its value.

Northrop worked closely with Bedford Built, Mirvac, AFL QUEENSLAND LIMITED, Ellivo Architects, and many other to deliver a facility that both players and spectators will be proud of. Our experience in not only sports infrastructure and collaborative delivery but also community spaces, helped shape a facility built for game days, training nights and everything in between. Thank you to everyone involved in delivering this award-winning facility.
