Dangrove Art Storage Facility and Event Space
Constructed to house Judith Neilson’s significant Chinese art collection, this purpose built, ‘state of the art’ building provides 10,000m2 of space with the functionality and flexibility to not only store and display artwork, but also host private events.
Northrop were engaged to provide construction stage support and verification of the mechanical systems and project sustainability, which encompassed Section J. In order to ensure that the space could be used for events and exhibitions, while maintaining its core function of art storage, the mechanical systems needed to effectively balance human comfort with strong condition controls. Extensive modelling was completed assessing building fabric performance and mechanical system impacts to provide an environment that balanced all of the client’s needs.
