In addition to working alongside our client and their team of consultants we were able to work in collaboration with our Melbourne office, with design works being complete by the Newcastle office and construction phase services being caried out by the team in Melbourne. This ensured the clients tight construction timeframes were able to be met and we could bring a truly national approach to the project.
Northrop were engaged to provide structural and civil design for the Town Centre of the new Harpley master planned community in Werribee Victoria Located 35km southwest of Melbourne’s CBD, Harpley is a rapidly expanding community offering residents a family oriented style of living.
The Harpley Town Centre located close to local parks and schools consists of Coles supermarket, Dan murphy’s, a Pharmacy, a number of specialty stores, a gym, cafes, restaurants, medical centre and a substantial sized on grade accessible carpark.
The project was successfully delivered within tight deadlines through an efficient and highly collaborative approach, ensuring all stakeholders remained in alignment throughout the process. Despite time constraints, we maintained the builders’ value management expectations without compromising quality or project intent.
Northrop leveraged the expertise within our Melbourne office, utilising internal resources strategically to meet key milestones during the construction phase. This not only demonstrated our adaptability but also reinforced our commitment to delivering projects efficiently, regardless of location. Our ability to mobilise teams across regions highlights our flexibility and responsiveness whilst ensuring we delivered a streamlined outcome that met both the client’s and the builder’s objectives. This project stands as a testament to Northrop’s capability to provide reliable, high-quality solutions under demanding timelines.
“The Harpley Town Centre is a cornerstone of the newly established Harpley community, providing a vibrant hub for residents and visitors.”

More than just a retail destination, the Centre supports local businesses, drives economic growth, and enriches daily life. Its thoughtful design encourages social interaction and establishes Harpley as a thriving, self-sustained community.
