We want everyone at Northrop to feel comfortable bringing their best selves to work – because we know diversity leads to better ideas and outcomes for our people, our business and our projects. We’re committed to being a more inclusive workplace and continuing to foster a culture of challenging the status quo.

Our Inclusion Advisory Committee has three strategic priorities – Promote Women, Celebrate Diversity and Develop a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). These are backed by our people benefits which include flexible work and paid parental leave.

We believe that having a diverse workforce is only possible through an inclusive culture, that celebrates everyone’s differences.
We’re proud to have a very diverse workforce. Here’s a snapshot:
– 26% speak multiple languages
– 20% identify as neurodiverse
– 13% are part of the LGBTQI community
– 11% of our workforce is part time

In an industry that has 16% female graduates, and approximately 15% female participation overall, we are exceptionally proud to have 34% women at Northrop. What we’re working on now is ensuring our women are supported to develop into senior leadership roles in our business, so that this percentage is seen and heard at all levels by 2030.

Through our partnership with Tomorrow’s Women in Construction, we are also focused on helping to attract females to the industry from as early as 14 years old, when STEM subjects are selected for their senior years.

We seek to understand the impact our work has on Country, and welcome meaningful engagement with local First Nations people on our projects.

We’re currently developing a Reconciliation Action Plan and look forward to this journey.
