Rory is a Principal Structural Engineer with more than 25 years of experience across Australia, the UK and the US.
At Northrop, Rory leads our work in the social and affordable housing sector, helping clients unlock value through buildable, cost-effective structural solutions. He thrives in complex, collaborative environments, balancing engineering insight with a deep understanding of architectural intent.
He is also passionate about school design, bringing a deep understanding of different typologies and construction methods to the table. He has delivered several MMoC schools including Jordan Springs and Alex Ave.
Rory’s portfolio spans major community, education and leisure developments across Sydney, including projects like Urbnsurf and Concord Oval. Rory’s passion lies in high-quality buildings that serve their communities, and in bringing teams together to solve problems with clarity, care and creativity.
He loves to get in to a complex architectural detail and is often seen next to a young engineer in the office sketching up a steel connection or basement section.
Outside work, Rory is a passionate surfer and dad, and can be found traveling around the world in search of the best waves.
