Matthew Pike
Matthew is a Principal Civil Engineer in Canberra, known for his hands-on leadership and deep technical expertise.
Starting as a cadet with the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority, his early work laid the foundation for a career spanning major infrastructure and land development projects, including over 1,000km of gas pipelines across Australia. Since joining Northrop in 2000, Matthew has led multidisciplinary teams through concept design, approvals and construction with a strong focus on collaboration and smooth delivery. He holds a Graduate Certificate of Management and completed the AICD Directors Course in 2023.
With strengths in stormwater, road design, traffic and land servicing, Matthew brings depth and responsiveness to every project. Off the clock, he’s often hiking remote trails, paddleboarding or recounting his family’s epic road trip around Australia.
