From Concept to Completion for over 40 years.
At Northrop, we specialise in the design of water and fire services within building envelopes to meet code requirements – but there’s more to it than that. We bring our 40 years of experience to the table, always aiming to improve efficiency and get best-for-project outcomes.
So how do we do this? We enjoy partnering with architects, project managers, builders, plumbers, and fire contractors. Our partnership approach allows us to deliver innovative hydraulic and fire services engineering tailored to each project’s unique needs. And because we sit right next to mechanical, electrical and civil engineers, we put coordination at the forefront of our design development. This approach ensures what we offer clients is practical, efficient, and aligned with project goals.
Whether it’s a large-scale commercial mixed-use, health or bespoke heritage buildings, our team is committed to excellence in hydraulic and fire services engineering.
With out team spread along Australia’s east coast, our local knowledge allows us to develop solutions that have a tangible impact, ensuring safe and sustainable outcomes for every project.
As a Graduate, I have had exposure to a variety of projects spanning many industries and getting to understand the specific requirements for each project. Working on designing hydraulic and fire systems has given me an appreciation for the systems behind the scenes in our built environments that allow our everyday lives to run seamlessly and safely.Benjamin Park2nd Year Hydraulic & Fire Graduate
Our Hydraulics & Fire team provides early project input through feasibility studies, ensuring water supply, sewer drainage, and fire services are practical, compliant, and cost-effective. We identify challenges early to streamline design, reduce costs, and support smarter project decisions.
Our team can provide you with a roadmap for hydraulic and fire services on your project for the development of a new site or expansion of an existing site. Our strength is our depth of experience with local water and sewer authorities and councils along the east coast of Australia, which helps us to identify the constraints and opportunities on your project.
Our Hydraulics & Fire team delivers clear, compliant, and buildable designs for D&C tenders. With strong industry experience, we optimise solutions to reduce risk, streamline approvals, and enhance cost efficiency. We often take on a peer review role post-tender, giving us a good understanding of the subcontractor market.
Our Hydraulics & Fire team provides detailed, coordinated designs tailored to your project’s needs. We work closely with our other in-house engineering services to provide you with a coordinated design which considers the building holistically.
Our Hydraulics & Fire team assesses system compliance, performance, and longevity. We develop asset registers, identify end-of-life components, and provide cost-effective upgrade strategies to ensure ongoing reliability and compliance.
