Matthew Allen
Matthew is the Structural Discipline Manager in our Newcastle office and has been with Northrop since 2011. During his time with Northrop, Matthew has been involved in the design and construction of a wide range of engineering projects from high-rise residential and commercial developments through to warehouse and industrial developments.
Matthew specialises in the design and delivery of multi-storey concrete buildings, with demonstrated experience in advanced seismic design, dynamic analysis and mine subsidence design. Matthew’s passion as a consulting structural engineer is realised by providing project value to clients through efficient structural designs, value engineering opportunities and applying clever solutions to key project complications from feasibility stage through to delivery.
Further to managing the Newcastle Structural Engineering team, Matthew has taught the final year structural engineering couse at the University of Newcastle since 2020, providing the benefits of his knowledge and experience for the engineers of the future.
Matthew was appointed a Northrop Principal December 2023.
