Nick is our Digital Innovation Lead and national Structural Technical Lead. He's committed to creating new digital solutions for the construction industry, to continuous improvement in our structural engineering capabilities and to delivering practical, elegant, and architecturally thoughtful solutions in every project.
With expertise across commercial offices, residential apartments, industrial warehouses and institutional buildings, Nick thrives on solving complex technical challenges and pushing the boundaries of structural design.
Since joining Northrop as an undergraduate in 2012 and picking up a University Medal, Nick has built a reputation for innovation and technical excellence. He combines this with strong client-side thinking, understanding the broader project risks, commercial constraints and bringing lateral thinking to every project.
As Structural Technical Lead, Nick strives for innovation and operational efficiency, sharing his knowledge with the team. Additionally, he has driven research initiatives in high-bay warehouse slabs and engineered timber buildings, co-hosting webinars to share his expertise with the industry.
As Digital Innovation Lead, Nick leads the software engineering efforts at the organisation. He’s passionate about the ability of digital technology to improve the working experience at Northrop and about applying software engineering principles across multiple disciplines. The Digital Innovation team currently builds software to solve problems across Northrop, and is looking to partner with others to explore what modern technology can bring to the construction industry.
