Urbanest North Terrace, Adelaide
Located on Adelaide’s cultural strip, Urbanest North Terrace is a 19 storey, 600-bed student accommodation building ideally located within easy reach of universities and other local amenities.
Our client’s primary driver was the speed of construction, with the development needed for students within 16 months of the builder taking possession. The constrained inner city site required Northrop to work in close consultation with the builder, exploring several structural system options to fast-track the works.
We resolved to use the off-site manufacturing benefits of pre-cast, finding that load-bearing external walls with pre-cast bubble deck floors suited the site constraints and budgets.
All precast elements were combined with in-situ jump-form cores, resulting in a speedy construction solution.
