Northrop partnered with Casa Koala Architecture and Vista Projex to deliver integrated structural, civil, and hydraulic services for the Vista Apartments. Working closely with the architect from early concept through to documentation, we provided coordinated engineering solutions that supported the architectural vision. Our involvement included resolving site-specific challenges while maintaining design intent and functionality across the structure and services.

Project

Vista Apartments is a boutique residential development featuring five high-end three-bedroom residences across three levels, including a penthouse. With basement parking and access from High Street, the design responds to a sloping coastal site. Northrop provided structural, civil, and hydraulic services to support the building’s form and function, addressing site access, levels coordination, and stormwater integration to ensure a seamless fit within the tight urban footprint.

Delivery

Northrop delivered structural, civil, and hydraulic engineering services for the Vista Apartments, working in close collaboration with Casa Koala Architecture to realise a high-quality coastal development. Our early involvement allowed us to inform the building’s form, levels, and services coordination in response to the site’s topography. We reviewed geotechnical and survey data to guide excavation and retention strategies, while ensuring integration with architectural and access requirements. Services included the development of a Concept Stormwater Management Plan, Sediment and Erosion Control Plan, and detailed hydraulic layouts for sewer, water, and drainage. We supported the team with responsive design input and clear documentation, helping to streamline coordination and delivery across disciplines.
