Project

Previously known as the Kirrawee Brick Pit, South Village in Kirrawee is a dynamic mixed-use development combining residential, commercial, and public park spaces. The site, once defined by a large water body from the former brick pit excavation, played a significant role in shaping the project’s planning, environmental approach, water management, and construction strategies.

Delivery

Northrop developed the water management strategy for the site, aiming to achieve several key goals: preventing flooding, providing rainwater for protected habitats, buildings, and water features, and improving water quality in runoff from the development. The final strategy effectively balances these objectives, ensuring they integrate seamlessly into this high-profile, vibrant development.

Impact

Completed in 2018, South Village now features 779 apartments across seven buildings ranging from five to 13 storeys, along with 9,000sqm of public parkland.
