Located on the site of the former Carlton United Brewery, Wonderland is part of the Central Park development by Frasers, consisting of over 300 apartments in inner-city Sydney.
Northrop’s structural team are currently in design phase of this 13-storey pre-stressed concrete building of high architectural sensitivity. The key challenges included the design of a double-height thoroughfare through the centre of the building as well as adapting an existing heritage pub on the site into a childcare centre for the Chippendale neighbourhood. Northrop undertook detailed wind and earthquake design using ETABS, a finite element analysis software package.
