Anglicare Mount Druitt

Northrop are excited to see the completion of the Anglicare Mount Druitt development and are very proud to have assisted Anglicare in providing this mixed affordable housing and strata development with a contemporary design outcome. Our team collaborated from the project inception with Anglicare, Root Partnerships and Group GSA, which resulted in an efficient engineering design with various optioneering schemes considered under an accelerated design programme. Northrop were engaged to provide structural and civil engineering services for the development comprising of a total of 173 housing units with affordable and strata units, spaced throughout three 8–storey towers, with a single level linked basement carpark.

Under a D&C mode we worked closely with the builder (Growthbuilt) to finalise the detailed design and the structural technical challenges, such as concrete blade walls extending 3-storeys unbraced, and multiple transfer structures - all of which were delivered within a tight construction program.  Civil technical challenges included providing Water Sensitive Urban Design on a constrained site to meet Council’s stringent water quality targets through onsite detention, water quality treatment and rainwater reuse without encroaching on useable open space.

We acknowledge the outstanding collaboration efforts from Anglicare, Root Partnerships, Group GSA and Growthbuilt. Well done to the entire team, resulting in a much-needed affordable housing development in Mount Druitt.
