Bellevue Hill Public School
The $12 million project includes 24 new classrooms, a library designed for contemporary learning and a refurbished administration area. The redevelopment will enable the school to almost double its student capacity. The project includes a 4 storey structure with basement and comprises of post-tensioned floor slabs, spiral concrete feature stair and bespoke architectural precast cladding panels that created a striking visual impact.
Northrop Engineers were brought into the project via a Contractor to rationalise the structural design. We looked to solutions that complemented the restricted site and provided cost and program efficiencies. By redesigning the floor slabs and foundation system; rationalising the precast cladding design and sequencing; improving the shoring system, we helped the Contractor win the project.
Despite us commencing the project after Tender, we quickly came up to speed, engaged and collaborated with the incumbent design team and help the Contractor achieve program and cost savings.
