Tyndale Christian School, Blacktown - Kindergarten Block

Having previously completed several projects at the school, Northrop were engaged to continue the redevelopment of the Tyndale Christian School site in Blacktown, this time to rejuvenate the Kindergarten Block. The school wished to provide students with modern and flexible learning spaces and to encourage engagement and excitement by utilising new technologies in the classrooms.

The unique architecture from Bow Goold Architects featured abstract combinations of cladding, brick, aluminium and glass facades with feature timber ceiling pitched finishes, which were respectfully challenging to coordinate suitable spatial awareness for the proposed rooms. Relying on Revit 3D technology and close collaboration with Bow Goold, Northrop were able to visualise and implement ideas and strategies to maximise the aesthetic of the new building envelope. The rooms utilised short-throw projectors (to replace outdated board technology), with a direct connection to the teacher’s smart devices – the use of this wireless technology helped maintain interior finishes without compromising the quality and delivery of the educational curriculum for the students.

Northrop continued works during construction with Reitsma Constructions, which maintained a cohesive collaboration effort. Further stages of development were announced on site, with the Northrop team listed as the preferred consultants. Our team are proud to be involved in the delivery of modern technology-driven and agile learning spaces and are looking forward to being involved in the development of other future-proofed educational precincts.
