West Ashfield Leagues Club

West Ashfield Leagues Club required refurbishment of its existing bistro/lounge area. The new fit out would include food and beverage amenities, back of house facilities, commercial kitchen and a wood fired pizza oven.

A skylight would be installed into the roof structure to provide natural lighting. The inclusion had not been allowed for in the existing roof design.

Northrop worked closely with the builder throughout construction to overcome space constraints and underlying conditions of the existing building.

There were numerous penetrations into the post-tensioned concrete slab which required our careful coordination with hydraulics, and food and beverage consultants. We needed to maintain the structural integrity of the slab while achieving the desired building layout.

Architectural details and aesthetics were also challenging, and we collaborated with the architect to visualise their concepts and complete the build within a live environment.

The refurbishment was complete in late Jan 2017 and the Club has since held many functions in its new facilities. Northrop has continued to strengthen its relationship with Altis Architects and James Clifford Construction through successful delivery of this project.
